Jamaican Sensation

$65

During my first years in Jamaica we ran a research garden in collaboration with the University of the West Indies, testing local and regional strains from seeds collected across the island. We were trying to find how much original Lamb’s Bread still existed and searching for unique varieties.

After growing out hundreds of seeds from Kingston to Negril, it became clear that what most Jamaicans now call “Lamb’s Bread” is the result of heavy Afghan influence from the 1980s mixed with the old island sativas. This acclimated hybrid became the most common ganja across the island.

After extensive selection we crossed the two best examples we received. With the exception of two closely guarded pure lines that take six months to finish, this is the closest thing to a true Jamaican heirloom sativa that exists today.

We grew out hundreds of plants per run, eliminating hermaphroditism and stabilizing through fem x fem crosses and backcrossing to a proven male. The result is a 70-75% sativa with pine cone-shaped dark green flowers absolutely encrusted with surprisingly large trichome heads.

She carries a musty, spicy skunk and earth aroma with a sweet pine and earthy taste on the exhale. The high is a serious soaring sativa effect that just vibes perfectly in the Jamaican sunshine.

Flowering time is 65–70 days indoors with very good yields. Outdoors I suspect she finishes between October 31 – November 10 (greenhouse recommended in northern climates).

The S1s have been throwing consistent plants testing 23–25% THC, with several breaking 28%.
