Blackseed, also known as “Black Seed” or “The Pound Plant,” is a 100% pure sativa strain that is a Mexican IBL native to the sunny regions of Mexico from the year 1974. This hard-hitting sativa is a patient favorite for its bright, vibrant high and deliciously lemony flavor that will leave you dreaming of when you’ll get to indulge in her again. This bud has a bright sweet yet tangy citrusy lemon flavor with a touch of flowery kush upon exhale. Originally bred in Moyie BC in the east kootnays of BC by Bill the “Seed” Holmes .
From Mexican seeds via California in the 70’s initially for years they found that the plants didn’t really finish they got what was called tips than in around 1983 Bill went to visit family in Denmark where he got some early seeds the strain was not named but Bill pollinated the fastest Mexican seed line they had been growing with pollen from the early Danish males the next year they had a portion of plants than finished fully by early Oct .
The consensus was everyone in the community liked the newly bred strain much more than the Danish strain that finished 3-4 weeks sooner .
By 1986 the black seed was in full production this strain given to me by Bill was the first strain I bred with and sold to Marc Emery .
She produces big sativa plants with narrow leaves and given ample root space and lots of love will easily produce a pound per plant with impressive bag appeal , indoors she is done is 60-68 days and is amazing plants to grow she is the mother of higher understanding most recently which has gained a following from BC to California .
